The practice was founded in the region over 50 years ago, and since then, has embarked on an incredible journey of growth and development.  The practice has propelled itself to becoming one of the region’s leading independent firms and whilst they have a proud heritage they also embrace new opportunities offered to them by advancements in technology and their international client base.  

The firm has over 100 employees and aiming for double digit growth in 2024. 

The Role & Background:

• In-depth R&D tax legislation knowledge.
• Proficient in crafting reports for non-tax professionals.
• Strong IT skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and information gathering abilities.
• Robust analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Efficient time management under pressure.
• Collaborative team working skills.
• Expert in researching and analysing industry-specific language and challenges.
• Write technically descriptive R&D project descriptions.
• Support BDMs in meetings with science and tech directors.
• Background in either finance or technology, considering experience in R&D project proposal or grant writing.
• Identify science and tech areas within SMEs and large companies.
• Handle secure and confidential information.
• Stay updated on tax legislation and HMRC guidelines.

Other beneficial requirements:

• Possession of a driving license and access to a vehicle.
• Familiarity with accounting software systems like AlphaTax.
• Confidence in completing adjustments to tax computation using accounting software.
• Familiarity with Xero.
• Industry experience or academic qualifications in engineering or software technology development are advantageous.
