Overview:
Ardeta Search is partnering with a prominent global manufacturing company in Hamburg to recruit a highly qualified Head of Finance and Accounting. This is a vital leadership position where the chosen candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company's German branch, ensuring compliance with HGB, German GAAP, and local tax laws.
Position Summary:
The Head of Finance and Accounting will play a key role in ensuring the financial stability and success of the company's operations in Germany. This position involves leading the finance and accounting team, managing financial reporting, and ensuring strict compliance with German accounting standards and tax regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial management and fluency in both German and English.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in line with HGB and German GAAP.
- Oversee tax compliance, including VAT, corporate tax, and other relevant tax obligations, ensuring adherence to German tax laws.
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal standards.
- Lead and develop the finance and accounting team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and long-term goals.
- Oversee cash flow to ensure the company’s financial stability and operational liquidity.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the company’s financial health.
- Serve as the main financial point of contact for senior management, external auditors, and regulatory authorities.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Deep knowledge of HGB (Handelsgesetzbuch) and German GAAP.
- Strong expertise in German tax laws and regulatory compliance.
- Proven track record in managing audits and working with external auditors.
- Fluency in German and English, with excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or equivalent.
- Experience working in a multinational corporation.
- Knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
