Overview: 

Our client, is a dynamic and fast-growing £10m turnover SME in Sheffield is looking to appoint their first Financial Controller to the business. As part of their expansion plans, they are seeking a talented and motivated Financial Controller to play a pivotal role in their business & finance department. This position will offer excellent career progression opportunities and a chance to be part of the senior leadership team.

Role Overview:

Reporting directly to the owners, the Financial Controller will oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounts department and lead a team of 3 staff members. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely management information, consolidating group accounts, and ensuring the smooth functioning of financial processes and systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and consolidate group accounts, providing accurate and timely management information.
  • Develop and maintain the group reporting pack to facilitate effective decision-making.
  • Review and optimize systems and processes to ensure best practices and efficiency.
  • Support the Finance Director in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Oversee the integration of finance systems for acquisitions.
  • Maintain P&L and cash flow forecasts to monitor financial performance.
  • Conduct a thorough review of financial systems and processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.

Requirements:

  • Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA accountant with relevant professional certification.
  • Proven experience in managing a team and driving their performance.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
